High Rigg House (Retreat)

Simple, welcoming accommodation offered by the Community of Aidan and Hilda for Community members, fulltime Christian workers, pilgrims and spiritual seekers looking for a place for retreat and prayer. This three-bedroom house in a quiet cul de sac can accommodate up to six guests in two double bedrooms and a twin. There is a comfortable lounge, a well-equipped kitchen next to a dining area, a conservatory and front and back gardens. There is wifi but, to allow peace and contemplation, there is no television.

The community also offers another retreat house on the island, Starbank Cottage, which sleeps 2/3 people.

Cost:

2024: £145 per night + £99 service charge per visit
2025: £135 per night + £140 service charge per visit

Dogs (up to two) are charged at £30 per visit

We require a deposit of 20% of the full fee with the booking. The balance of the fees is required one month before arrival. Bookings are not complete until you have received confirmation from the Bookings Manager.

Minimum stays and arrivals/departures:

2 nights minimum stay

– The end of one booking (departure by 10am) can coincide on the same day with the beginning of the next (arrival from 3pm) – i.e. we can do one-day changeovers.
– We don’t have departures on a Saturday, because that splits weekends.
– We don’t have arrivals on a Sunday, so that our cleaners can take that day off.
