Profile
Veteran Northumberland guide Patrick Norris leads two walks involving Holy Island. The first is the Pilgrim’s Way, which by necessity must be done when the tide is out. The second takes place on the island when the tide is in and the causeway is shut.
The Pilgrim’s Way
Patrick’s most popular guided walk follows the Pilgrim’s Way across the bay to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. This genuinely unique walk follows the poles, The Pilgrim’s Way, a wild space, walked by Kings, Saints and Sinners alike over many centuries and the home to plenty of wildlife.
Over the tide
When the causeway shuts, Holy Island becomes quieter, and this walk explores the far reaches of the Island. There’s no need to rush and we have plenty of time to stand and stare at the Island’s coastal scenery, the far horizons and depending on the time of year its remarkable wildlife. A series of ever-changing moments on this remarkable Island.
